A BIT OF CHURCH HISTORY!Four talks will take place in St Luke’s United Church, St Peter's Street, Bedford, MK40 2NN at 7.30 p.m. on Wednesday evenings in September 2008.
Over the 263 years of its history four denominations have operated from the Church and these will be acknowledged as follows:
Wednesday 3 September What it means to be Moravian by The Rt Revd John McOwat,
Bishop of the British Province of the Moravian Church
Wednesday 10 September What it means to be Presbyterian by Prof Revd Dr Alan Sell
formerly Theology Secretary of the World Alliance of Reformed Churches
Wednesday 17 September What it means to be Congregational by Revd Dr Stephen Orchard, the former Principal of Westminster College, Cambridge and Moderator of the URC General Assembly
Wednesday 24 September What it means to be Reformed by Revd Dr Janet Tollington
Director of Old Testament Studies, Westminster College, Cambridge

Healthy Church
Team building a healthy church is to help those in the church to pull together in God work. This happens on the 15, 22, 29 September and 6th October from 7.30 to 9.30 pm in Bouverie Court. It is led by Chris Peck and Andrew Rayment and cost £10 per person for all four courses.

Core Skills Training
Do you work with children in a Sunday School, church group, midweek or holiday club?
Do you long for more children in your church?
Do you need confidence to work with children?
Then this training is for you! Running on 16 & 30 September, 14 October, 4 & 18 November and 2 December 2008 at Diocesan House, Easton, Norwich.

There will be a two-Year Ecumenical Course beginning in Cambridge on the subject of SPIRITUALITY
& THE ART OF SPIRITUAL DIRECTION

Igniting Gods Word
Igniting God's word is putting the Bible in perspective. Reading it with relevance to today and applying it to life. The sessions are happening on the 3, 10, 17, 24 November 2008 from 7.30 to 9.00pm and will be led by Chris Peck. It will take place at Bouverie Court, Northampton and will cost £10.00 per person for all 4 sessions.
